The most trending home cafés in Singapore
01 • The Weekender’s Café

Craving homemade coffee without having to make one yourself? Hey, I don’t judge!
Cue The Weekender’s Café. Located just opposite Bishan Park, this quaint home café is run by a family of coffee lovers, whose love for coffee shows in their quality brews. However you prefer your coffee, they’re sure to make a cup that’ll leave you satisfied.
One of their most popular drinks is the Pistachio Cream Iced Latte ($5.90), which combines the earthy flavour of pistachio cream and the richness of espresso to create a drink that’s just the right blend of sweet and bitter. It’s dangerously good because it’ll leave you wanting to drink so much, you won’t be able to catch a wink of sleep at night.
📍 Address: 309A Ang Mo Kio Street 31, Level 2, Singapore 562309

02 • Knead Kopi

Even if you’re not a member of the home café cult, you should still go to Knead Kopi. It’s home (no pun intended) to an impressively expansive menu that covers not just drinks, but savoury mains and delectable desserts.
One of the centrepieces is Ahma Ang’s Bee Hoon. This daily-made, fresh bee hoon comes with chilli and garlic to add a spicy kick that’ll tantalise your taste buds. It’s so good, you’ll only stop when you’re fully stuffed.
Another must-try, the Banana Pudding with Kopi O, is an interesting and adventurous take on the classic beverage. The infusion of the banana pudding’s custard-like taste with the coffee’s creamy texture reminded me of the incredibly tasty egg coffee native to Hanoi.
Knead Kopi has relatively long opening hours for a home café, allowing you the flexibility to incorporate it into your weekend or mid-week plans, whether for a chill breakfast, a quick to-go, or an indulgent afternoon snack.

03 • Tofu Tofu (Muslim-owned)

Make no mistake — this isn’t a tofu store, although I was also confused for a moment. It’s actually a home café that whips up some really mean matcha beverages.
Their classic OG Matcha Latte, affordably priced at $4.90, is expertly whisked to create a soft, creamy texture. The subtle traces of milk accentuate the rich vegetal taste of the Niko Neko matcha powder, known for its superior quality.
The menu also boasts other drinks, such as the Biscoff Matcha Latte ($5.90), which includes the crunchy sweetness of Biscoff in a perfect balance with the matcha. For all their drinks, you can choose your preferred sweetness level.
Check out their Instagram page to preorder your drinks and for information on when to pick them up.

04 • State of Mind

Do you prefer coffee or tea? If you said yes, go to State of Mind, where you can have both!
This cute café, run by cuter baristas in a Yishun HDB, serves drinks conveniently from the window. If only I had known earlier that my childhood home café game could be turned into an actual business idea! 😭
At State of Mind, you have to try some of the classic drinks like the Hojicha Latte ($5). It’s a smoky yet refreshing beverage with a distinct caramel note, perfect for sweltering days. The drink, like many others on the menu, is topped with neat latte art that feels like silk on the tongue and a masterpiece to the eyes.
You’ll also find speciality dishes, like the Kinako Latte ($5). Every sip of the drink will deliver a nutty note of soybeans coupled with a mild touch of sweetness from Okinawa brown sugar. 😋
📍 Address: Yishun Central 1, #02-37, Singapore 760935
⏰ Opening hours: Tue to Fri, 9:30am – 2:30pm | Sat and Sun, 11:30am – 2:30pm

05 • Whisk & Waddles

Yio Chu Kang-Lentor folks, here’s one for you. Whisk & Waddles is a home-based café that prides itself on its matcha drinks and flaky, decadent pastries. You’ll be surprised to find a variety of matcha drinks with inventive names like Rosy Tuxedo and Polar Pulse.
The cafe uses Uji premium ceremonial-grade matcha and homemade syrups to ensure that drinks are of the highest quality. For example, the Rosy Tuxedo ($6.40) mixes strawberry syrup, milk, and matcha together for an explosion of berry, earthy, and creamy flavours. The result is a deeply satisfying and refreshing treat.
Pair your drink with a freshly baked pastry, like the New York Cheesecake with Biscoff Base ($5.90), which will treat you to rich, creamy goodness and a tiny tinge of sweetness in the follow-through. All their bites are prepared in-house, so you know they’re fresh. 🤩
Check out their Instagram for their preorder form.

06 • Pebbles Coffee

At the intersection between coffee lovers and dog lovers are the owners of Pebbles Coffee. This relatively new HDB café isn’t only a humble space to enjoy finely brewed coffee, but also to engage in friendly conversations or play with the café’s namesake, an adorable cockapoo named Pebbles, who’ll play with you as you wait for your coffee. She’s so cute, I almost wish their owners would take longer to prepare my coffee. 🤗
Sit down with a cuppa like the Yuzu Cloud ($6), a tasty cold brew topped with a cloud-like yuzu foam. The zesty yuzu notes combine with the mellower taste of the coffee to create a taste that’ll really jolt your taste buds awake.
While Pebbles Coffee does not have fixed opening hours, you can always check out their Instagram for regular updates on when they’re open.

07 • Coffee Near Me

If you search “coffee near me” on Google after a walk at Lower Peirce Reservoir, it might just take you to this home café literally called “Coffee Near Me”. That’s how I chanced upon it!
Decked out on the porch of the café are many cute tables and chairs for you to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee while soaking in the sights of the housing estate. Some tables are even set up with camping chairs to make you feel like you’re camping with friends. And if you’re lucky, you might see adorable furbabies as you dine in this pet-friendly café! 😍
I couldn’t get enough of the Truffle Egg Shio Pan ($4.50), a light, crispy butter roll. The slight saltiness of the bread brought out the rich umami flavour of the truffle egg and made it shine like a star. I’d also highly recommend their Carrot Cake ($5.50), which is baked to a delicate, spongy texture. Topped with a generous serving of cream cheese, it’s an irresistibly sweet treat with a slight touch of cinnamon.
Wash your bites down with a refreshing drink. One of the crowd favourites is the Mocha ($5). As someone whose go-to coffee is mocha, I felt that it nailed all the flavours and textures characteristic of the beverage. Its chocolate taste is distinctive, yet it doesn’t take over the entire drink, allowing you to still be able to enjoy the coffee.

08 • The Cocoa Spatula

Take one look at The Cocoa Spatula’s pastries and you won’t believe that they’re a home-based business. Their pastries are so exquisitely baked that they can rival even the most professional of companies. You can view its many bakes online on their website, or in person when its HDB is open once a month to display its bakes. If I were face-to-face with such pretty treats, I don’t know what I’d do first — take a picture, or stuff my face? It almost feels like a crime to ruin the beautiful designs on the cakes. 😭
Their menu is armed to the teeth with vast offerings of pastries. Try the Madeleines ($3.50/piece). These soft and puffy pastries come in various flavours, like the Classic Vanilla Bean, which is mildly sweet and smoky to the right degree. It’s a good thing they come in a box of 20, because I can down them like no tomorrow.
But The Cocoa Spatula’s speciality lies in their artisan cakes. Not only are they beautifully and creatively designed, but they’re also of the highest quality — baked with no artificial flavourings and customisable. Yums!

09 • Chuffee House

Chuffee House is making a name for itself as the place to have good quality coffee in the East. Their coffee is made using beans roasted in-house, so it’s of the freshest quality — I’d say it can even give Starbucks a run for their money! Their black coffee ($3.50) packs a concentrated espresso flavour that’s guaranteed to keep you wide awake for at least the next few hours. The accompanying subtle citrussy note conceals the bitter taste fairly well, so this is a good pick if you enjoy strong coffee without having to grimace or wrinkle your nose.
If you prefer your coffee cold, try their Yuzuka ($6), which brings together a tangy yuzu purée, sparkling tonic water, and espresso for a truly electric flavour that’ll energise you and keep you cool in the baking Singapore weather.
