Some memories deserve better than a phone snap in bad lighting. A graduation. A newborn's first week. A Tuesday where you just felt like dressing up for no reason at all. That's where photo studios in Singapore come in, and the scene right now is wider than most people realise.

On one end, you've got self-photo booths. Walk in, press a clicker, walk out ten minutes later with a strip of photos and a slightly sore face from grinning. On the other end, there are professional studios with natural light, real photographers, and packages built around families, couples, and milestones. This guide covers a mix, sorted so you can jump straight to whatever you're after.

Self-photo studios in Singapore

01 · Photoism

(Photo: Pawjourr)

Photoism is the Korean self-photo booth that K-pop fans kept asking for, and it finally landed at City Square Mall. The pull here is the rotating idol frames. Depending on the season, your strip might come bordered with visuals from BTS, TWICE, or whoever's promoting that month, which is catnip for collectors.

I queued on a Saturday once, fully expecting a five-minute wait, and ended up behind a line of teenagers swapping photocards like trading cards. Worth it, though. The image quality sharp, and the booth itself is clean and well-lit. Bring cash, because the City Square Mall booth takes $2 and $10 notes only.

📍 Address: City Square Mall, 180 Kitchener Road, #04-23, Singapore 208539
Opening hours: 10am – 10pm daily
💵 Price: From around $6 for 2 strips, depending on the frame

02 · Solace Studios

(Photo: corner)

If you've seen a friend's photo strip taken inside a fake aeroplane cabin or a retro train carriage, it was probably Solace. This homegrown brand built its name on themed booths, and now runs outlets all over the island. Each location has a different theme, and concepts range from a laundromat to a vintage lift to a newspaper-front cut where your face becomes the headline.

I dragged two friends to one of their booths at Changi after dinner, purely on a whim. The strip came out a little chaotic and completely us, and we couldn’t have been happier with the result. A few of their outlets are pet-friendly too, so your dog can crash the shoot.

📍 Address: Outlets islandwide, including VivoCity, Jewel Changi Airport, JEM, and The Cathay
Opening hours: Vary by outlet, generally 11am – 10pm
💵 Price: From $10 for a classic strip; concept booths from $12

03 · Life4Cut

(Photo: Have Halal Will Travel)

Life4Cut was one of the first Korean-style photo booths to take off here, and it's still going strong with branches across the city. What sets it apart is the prop wall, with animal headbands, sunglasses, and the occasional hanbok, all free to grab before you step in. It turns a quiet shoot into a bit of a dress-up session.

The Holland Village branch runs 24 hours, which is oddly useful. Late-night supper, then a photo strip to remember it by. Why not?

📍 Address: Outlets islandwide, including Bugis, Jurong Point, Suntec City
Opening hours: 10.30am – 10pm daily
💵 Price: From $10 for 2 strips

04 · Fotomat Studio

(Photo: Vulcan Post)

Fotomat does one thing and does it with real conviction: black-and-white self-portraits. Billed as Singapore's first self black-and-white photo studio, it strips everything back. No distractions, just clean shadows and a clicker in your hand.

I went on my own, expecting to feel awkward. But there's something quietly satisfying about taking your time, watching the timer, and getting one frame exactly right. The Craig Road outlet sits above a vinyl-record cafe, so you can grab a coffee and listen to some sick tunes after. Booking is online and payment is by PayNow only, so be sure to sort that out before you arrive.

📍 Address: 45A Craig Road, 2nd Floor, Singapore 089683
Opening hours: 11am – 9pm daily
💵 Price: From $30 for 2 people, including 2 prints

05 · Standard Photo Studio

(Photo: Maswiyah Yunus)

Here's a lovely bit of history. Standard Photo Studio has been in the photo business since 1969, and the MacPherson shop has reinvented itself as a self-photo spot with concept rooms. There's a ballpit room. There's a room styled like a hawker centre. And so on and so forth. You also get to turn your photos into keychains and decorate them with beads, which is more fun than it has any right to be.

At $10 for the Flash and Dash package, it's one of the more wallet-friendly options on this list, and the family-run warmth still comes through.

📍 Address: 565 MacPherson Road, #03-00, Singapore 368234
Opening hours: Sun to Thurs, 10am – 5:15pm | Fri and Sat, 12pm – 7:15pm
💵 Price: From $10 for the Flash and Dash package

Professional photo studios in Singapore

06 · Studio03

(Photo: Time Out)

Studio03 sits in an interesting middle ground. It's a professional photo studio, but it leans stylish and casual, with more than 50 backdrops and proper photo-editing thrown in. This is the one to book if you need a Korean-style (read: snatched) ID or profile photo. You just show up, and their team of photographers and editors do the heavy lifting.

There's an optional makeup add-on if you want the full treatment, guided by hair and makeup artists who are more than happy to give you the rundown on what your colours are. Worth noting: the listed operating window is narrow, so confirm a slot before you make the trip.

📍 Address: CT Hub 2, 114 Lavender Street, Lift Lobby 2, #10-85, Singapore 338729
Opening hours: By appointment
💵 Price: From $40; hair makeup add-on from $150

07 · White Room Studio

(Photo: White Room Studio)

White Room is the natural-light studio that has Singaporean families in a chokehold. It lives in a restored Peranakan shophouse on River Valley Road, with a dozen-odd settings and a candid, documentary style rather than stiff posing. They also plant trees for every 3rd shoot, which is a nice touch.

A friend booked them for her graduation photos and asked me to tag along. The team had a stash of university gowns ready, the whole thing felt relaxed rather than rushed, and the photos looked like her instead of a stock image. It's a popular professional photo studio for a reason. Family sessions cover everyone from newborns to grandparents, plus maternity, cake smashes, and pet shoots.

📍 Address: 219 River Valley Road, Level 2, Singapore 238277
Opening hours: By appointment
💵 Price: Family and corporate sessions from $390; makeup from $200t per person

08 · Oh Dear Studio

(Photo: Oh Dear Studio)

Run by an all-female team in a colonial conservation shophouse in Blair Plain, Oh Dear Studio has a bright, old-world charm, with French-style windows and a private rooftop. Unhurried vibes, and an airy, warm style. It's a strong pick for a family photoshoot, multi-generation portraits, or a maternity session, which they shoot privately with fabrics for a more artistic look.

📍 Address: 87 Kampong Bahru Road, #02-01, Singapore 169381
Opening hours: By appointment
💵 Price: Lite from $480; Premium from $780; $30 per additional person

09 · Tomato Photo Studio

(Photo: Tomato Photo Studio)

Tomato has been shooting families since 2007, helmed by a single award-winning photographer. The style is deliberately simple and prop-free, and is perfect for clean portraits that don't date. The studio is purpose-built and stroller-friendly, and edited images land within 24 hours, which any tired new parent will appreciate.

They handle the full range, from maternity and newborn right through to large multi-generation groups of 20 or 30 people. Pricing sits at the premium end and is shared on enquiry, so reach out for a quote.

📍 Address: 62 Ubi Road 1, #10-23, Oxley Bizhub 2, Singapore 408734
Opening hours: By appointment, 7 days a week
💵 Price: Premium; contact the studio for package rates

10 · Bambini Photography

(Photo: Bambini Photography)

Bambini is Tomato's sister studio, right next door in the same Ubi building, with a softer, more minimalist look. The headline feature is the adult-sized bathtub for maternity milk-bath shoots, which photograph beautifully. There's a private ensuite changing room too, which matters more than you'd think when you're shooting with a baby.

Beyond maternity and newborn work, they also cover children, siblings, family, graduation, and corporate. Pets are welcome.

📍 Address: 62 Ubi Road 1, #10-24, Oxley Bizhub 2, Singapore 408734
Opening hours: By appointment
💵 Price: Packages from $250

Photo studios in Singapore with a twist

11 · Dressed Up Dreams Photo Studio

(Photo: Dressed Up Dreams Photo Studio)

For a full transformation, Dressed Up Dreams was Singapore's first studio dedicated to Hanfu, the traditional dress of the Han Chinese. The styling is properly researched across different dynasties, with professional hair and makeup and over a hundred rental outfits to pick from. They also do Republic-era and qipao looks.

Every session at Dressed Up Dreams is preceded by a short questionnaire where the studio gets your measurements and preferences. You’re then sent a curated list of Hanfu styles and photoshoot locations to choose from. It's a favourite for couples, solo portraits with a C-drama feel, and visitors who want a cultural keepsake of their trip. Everything is by appointment, with a free consultation to plan your look.

📍 Address: 47 Jalan Pemimpin, #03-08A Halcyon 2, Singapore 577200

12 · LunarWorks Studio

(Photo: LunarWorks Studio)

Out in Bukit Batok, LunarWorks builds everything around themed sets. There are seven rentable backdrops, each with matching furniture, ranging from a gothic Western scene to full fantasy setups. It's also one of the few studios in Singapore that properly caters to cosplayers, with dedicated cosplay shoots that sit alongside the bread-and-butter work: family, maternity, newborn, cake smash, and business headshots. And if you’re an independent photographer who wants to work in a purpose-built environment, LunarWork’s sets are also available for hourly rental.

📍 Address: The Splendour, 31 Bukit Batok Crescent, #01-06, Singapore 658070
