Some of us love the buzz of a packed gym. The rest… would rather not wait 20 minutes for a squat rack while a stranger films their fourth attempt at a PB. If that's you, good news. Private gyms in Singapore have quietly multiplied over the past few years, and most of them work the same way: open an app, book a slot, and the whole studio is yours. There's no membership to sign and nobody around to watch you figure out what a landmine press is.
I've been slowly working my way through these pods over the past few months, and here's everything I've learnt about where to book, what you'll pay, and which one suits you.
01 • The Gym Pod

The Gym Pod launched Singapore's first private micro-gym back in 2018, and you've probably walked past one of its bright yellow container pods. There are now over 50 pods islandwide, from the CBD to a spot right beside Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Every pod rocks the same setup with a cardio machine, a full dumbbell rack, and a strength station. Newer pods come with smart interactive mirrors that guide you through workouts, which shocked me with how well they held my attention. I'd planned a quick 30-minute session and ended up following the mirror's shoulder routine instead of my usual aimless wandering between machines. Sessions are booked in 30-minute blocks from $6 off-peak.
📍 Address: Over 50 locations islandwide
⏰ Opening hours: Most pods open 24 hours

02 • MyGymLab

If The Gym Pod is the pioneer, MyGymLab is the tech showcase. Its 10 labs sit in heartland estates like Clementi West, Jurong East, Tampines, and Bukit Gombak, and every one of them is stuffed with gadgets: an AI fitness mirror with avatar-guided workouts, a body composition scanner, mood lighting, and even a UV germicidal lamp that runs between sessions.
The vibe is deliberately unintimidating. Sessions cost $10.50 for 30 minutes at peak hours and $8.50 off-peak, with a $14.80 monthly premium plan that locks in the cheaper rate all day. The Labs themselves are compact, around the size of a small studio apartment, but each one is packed with equipment. When I visited the Clementi West Lab on a rainy Tuesday night, the novelty of having mood lighting set to whatever colour I wanted and my Ninajirachi blasting on the speakers made a leg day feel almost pleasant. Almost.

⏰ Opening hours: Open 24 hours

03 • Ark Pod

Neon lights, a private pod, and rates that start at $5 an hour. Ark Pod in Bishan bills itself as Singapore's first 24-hour neon gym, and each of its themed pods carries a different equipment set. The red one comes with a punching bag and kettlebells. The green one has a weightlifting platform and squat rack for anyone chasing serious numbers. And so on and so forth until you have yourself a full, multi-coloured power ranger squad of workout rooms.
Peak-hour bookings are $10 an hour, off-peak $7, and the $5/hr late-night rate is where the real value hides. Pods fit a maximum of 2 pax, which makes this a great shout for workout buddies or couples who want to train together without an audience.
📍 Address: 220 Bishan Street 23, #B1-189, Singapore 570220
⏰ Opening hours: Open 24 hours

04 • Caliente Gym

Caliente is the odd one out on this list: a fully equipped mini-gym tucked inside a dance studio in Bugis. Once you book, the space is exclusively yours for the hour. It's a flat $12.90 per session with no peak or off-peak nonsense, and packages bring the per-session price down further.
The vibe is kind of dinky, but it’s a free-weight freak’s paradise: dumbbells from 2.5kg to 30kg, an Olympic bar, an EZ curl bar, and 255kg of plates. Freelance personal trainers love this place, so if you've got a PT who needs a private space, this is one to bookmark.
📍 Address: 112 Middle Road, #07-00 Midland House, Singapore 188970
⏰ Opening hours: Open 24 hours

05 • Dungeon Fitness

Out in the wilds of Bendemeer lies an offshoot of The Gym Pod (a podling, mayhaps). Dungeon’s main floor is shared between its regular clientele of gymgoers and personal trainers, but the Dynamic and Vigor pods are all yours at $9.50 per half-hour for up to 2 pax. Because it sits inside Wyse Active Hub, Singapore's largest air-conditioned badminton facility, you can pair a lifting session with a few badminton games before calling it a day.
📍 Address: 80 Bendemeer Road, #01-10, Singapore 339949
⏰ Opening hours: 6am - 11pm daily

06 • Catalyst Performance

Everything above is self-service, where you book the room and run your own workout. Catalyst Performance in the CBD works the other way round. It's a private 1:1 personal training studio above Telok Ayer MRT, which means you can't rent the space to train alone. Every session comes with a coach, and the floor is reserved for whichever 1:1 sessions are running, so no sharesies required.
The premium buys you a different kind of experience. Before any training starts, you get a free hour-long assessment that scores your body composition, cardio fitness, stability, and strength. The equipment comes from specialist brands like Watson and Keiser, and there are hot showers with towels provided, which is a rarity on this list. Sessions start from $163.50 as a first-time rate, with package pricing worked out after the assessment, so this one's for readers ready to invest in coaching rather than hunt for a $6 slot.
📍 Address: 8 Cross Street, #05-03 Manulife Tower, Singapore 048424
⏰ Opening hours: Mon - Fri, 6am - 8pm | Sat - Sun, 8am - 2pm
