Show of hands, how many of you drink coffee before work? Lately, I’ve been getting my morning cup of joe from a home-based business near my house, and the latte is to die for.

Personally, I think this café-at-home trend should stick around forever. After all, who doesn’t love good food, a cosy ambience, and wholesome vibes? And what better way to feel at home than at a café that’s literally in a home?

Craving homemade coffee without having to make it yourself? Look at us twinning 🤩

Located at Bedok Reservoir, Level2Coffee promises excellent drinks made with utmost care. If you have a sweet tooth, this café is right up your alley 🍪

Its popular Iced Biscoff Latte ($6), which combines the crunchiness of Biscoff biscuits and the richness of espresso, is a drink that’s just the right blend of sweet and bitter. It’s dangerously addictive, but don’t drink too much or you won’t be able to catch a wink of sleep at night.

⏰ Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 8pm

02 • Knead Kopi

Even if you’re not a member of the home café cult, you should still go to Knead Kopi. It’s home (no pun intended) to an impressive menu that covers not just drinks, but also savoury mains and delectable desserts.

One of the highlights is Ahma Ang’s Bee Hoon with Curry Chicken ($12). This daily-made , fresh bee hoon comes with a bowl of spicy and flavourful curry that’ll tantalise your taste buds.

Another must-try is the Mochi Brownie ($5.50), crunchy on the outside and squishy on the inside. It’s a sinful treat to have in the morning, but I’m having it all the same (don’t judge me😔)

03 • Malayleh

(Photo: Malayleh)

Two words. Crispy. Fried. Chicken. Okay, that was three words, but how else do I get your attention if I don't tack ‘crispy’ at the beginning?

That’s exactly what Malayleh (muh-lay-lay) specialises in—fried chicken with crispy skin and succulent meat, marinated from scratch with authentic kampong spices. By the way, one piece of chicken only costs $0.80 🤯 Mind you, the owner (a fashionable, pink-haired lady called Nadia Jamaluddin) cooks almost 10kg of chicken a day but sells one wing for less than a dollar. That is an absolute steal y’all 🙌

Don’t forget to grab a creamy Mawar Tarik, with edible rose petals, to cleanse your palate before diving back into chicken goodness.

04 • State of Mind

(Photo: State of Mind)

This cute café, run by cuter baristas, serves drinks conveniently from the window. If only I had known earlier that my childhood home café game could be turned into an actual business idea 😭

At State of Mind, you have to try some of the classic drinks, like the Hojicha Latte ($5.50). It’s a smoky yet refreshing beverage with a distinct caramel note, perfect for sweltering days. This drink, like many others on the menu, is topped with neat latte art that’s silk on your tongue and a masterpiece to the eyes.

05 • Sunday Service

(Photo: Sunday Service)

Come, all ye faithful, and if you aren’t religious that’s okay too. Sunday Service is a café for everyone, regardless of faith, to come and lay their weary heads.

Once a week (wanna guess what day?), professional roaster Byron Lim opens up his residence to anyone looking for a cup of seasonal home-brewed coffee and snacks. The menu changes often, but his gourmet tinned fish and bread brunch set has been a hit since 2025. Some have likened it to the biblical ‘5 loaves and 2 fish’ story, which Byron admits is the inspiration.

Vogue Singapore gave their compliments to Sunday Service, so maybe this is my sign to pop over for an espresso highball...

⏰ Opening hours: Sun, 10am – 3pm

06 • Pebbles Coffee

(Photo: Pebbles Coffee and Pebbles In The House)

At the intersection of coffee lovers and dog lovers are the owners of Pebbles Coffee. This HDB café isn’t just a humble space to enjoy finely brewed coffee, but also a place to engage in friendly banter or play with the café’s namesake, an adorable cockapoo named Pebbles. She’s so cute, she’ll make you wish her owners would take longer to prepare your coffee. 🤗

Make yourselves comfortable and get a Yuzu Cloud ($6) or a Maple Sea Salt Cloud ($6.50); both brews are topped with fluffy foam, giving the mouth-feel of eating, you guessed it, a cloud ⛅️

📍 Address: 8 Minbu Road, Singapore 308162
⏰ Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 8pm

07 • Coffee Near Me

(Photo: Coffee Near Me)

If you search “coffee near me” on Google after a walk at Lower Peirce Reservoir, it might take you to this home café literally called “Coffee Near Me”. That’s how I chanced upon it 😂

Decked out on the porch of the café are many cute tables and chairs for you to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee while soaking in the sights of the housing estate. And if you’re lucky, you might see adorable dogs tagging along with their owners to enjoy the cafe ambience 😍

I couldn’t get enough of the Hot Honey Brie Focaccia ($6) and the Carrot Cake ($5.50)—both were baked to perfection. I washed it down with a Brown Sugar Latte and was practically bouncing off the walls an hour later 😵‍💫

‍⏰ Opening hours: Sat & Sun, 9am – 3:30pm

08 • Soop Soop Coffee

(Photo: Olivia Lee)

Yishun residents, you get a pass this time, because the coffee here absolutely slaps (but we’re still keeping an eye on y'all).

It’s just a shame that HDBs don’t allow sit-in dining, because I think a cup of joe while surrounded by my friends and the calming green of the hallway plants would genuinely heal my soul.

I can picture it… I’ll order an Espresso with milk ($5), yap with my besties and the café owners about things that irritate me… then I’ll order a Dirty Matcha Latte ($6.50) to go, and sip it slowly while walking to the bus stop… why am I getting emotional about a scenario that never happened?!

‍

📍 Address: 408 Yishun Ave 6, Singapore 760408
⏰ Opening hours: Subject to change, check Instagram for the monthly schedule | Last order at 3.30pm
🍴 Dine-in option: Not available

09 • BaoBei Coffee

(Photo: BaoBei Coffee)

Now, I didn’t try this one personally, but apparently the non-coffee drinks here are pretty freaking good too.

My sibling had a glass of Lil’ Cocoa ($4) while my mother tried the Bed of Roses ($4.50), which was bandung over coffee. No, your eyes are not tricking you, both the chocolate and bandung drink amounted to less than $10. You might be thinking: can it get any better?

Enter the café mascot, Scottie the Corgi. Scottie will happily entertain you while your drinks are being brewed, or maybe you’ll be entertaining her more, since she’s a fiend for belly-rubs 🐶💙

10 • The Cocoa Spatula

(Photo: The Cocoa Spatula)

Take one look at The Cocoa Spatula’s pastries and you won’t believe that they’re a home-based business.

Try the Roasted Hazelnut Madeleines ($3.50/pc) and the Roasted Pistachio Cream Puffs ($3/pc) for that sweet and smoky flavour. And if you’re looking for something sweet and filling, order the café’s speciality—customisable artisan cakes.

Not only are they beautifully and creatively designed, they’re also of the highest quality and baked with no artificial flavourings. If I were face-to-face with it, I don’t know what I’d do first—take a picture, or chow down? It feels like a crime to ruin something so pretty 😭

📍 Address: Tampines North Drive 2
⏰ Opening hours: Subject to availability, email or DM on Instagram for more information
🍴 Dine-in option: Not available
