Blame it on the sizzle, or blame it on that neverending banchan spread. Whatever it is, Singaporeans can’t get enough of KBBQ. And with so many spots to choose from, knowing where to go can feel genuinely overwhelming.

So here's a rundown of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore worth visiting, from wallet-friendly buffets you can hit on a random Tuesday to premium wagyu spots you'd save for a special occasion. There's a grill for every mood and budget.

Budget picks: all-you-can-eat on a dime

01. Captain Kim Korean BBQ and Hotpot (halal)

If you've been looking for halal Korean BBQ that doesn't compromise on variety, Captain Kim is where you want to be. With a MUIS halal certification and three outlets across Tampines, Bukit Panjang, and Clementi, it's one of the most accessible spots, KBBQ or otherwise, for Muslim diners across Singapore.

The buffet features over 60 items, including marinated meats, seafood, and a hearty army stew hotpot on the side. That last one is a game-changer on rainy evenings. Prices start from $18.90++ per pax during lunch, which is hard to beat for the spread you're getting.

📍 Address: 3151 Commonwealth Ave West, #02-05 Grantral Mall @ Clementi, Singapore 129581
Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 11.30am – 3.30pm, 5.30pm – 10pm | Sat to Sun, 11.30am – 10pm

Mid-range picks: solid spots for any occasion

02. Wang Dae Bak

(Photo: Wang Dae Bak)

Wang Dae Bak has been around since 2011, making it basically KBBQ royalty ‘round these parts. The restaurants lean into a retro Korean street vibe; the decor evokes the aesthetic of 80s Seoul, and the food evokes its warmth.

Charcoal grilling is the draw here. The signature kimchi and seafood pancake is worth ordering even before the meat arrives. Just be sure to leave plenty of space for the Flower Pork Belly and US Prime Sirloin, which are well-marinated for that extra tang. The Holland Village outlet tends to be a good pick for a more relaxed, neighbourhood-feel session.

📍 Address: 22 Cross Street, #01-64, Singapore 048421 (and Holland Piazza, 3 Lorong Liput, #02-01, Singapore 277725)
Opening hours: 11.30am – 10.30pm daily

03. Seorae Jib

(Photo: Daniel Food Diary)

With six locations across malls like Plaza Singapura, Jem, Northpoint City, and NEX, Seorae Jib puts your next errand run on a collision course with the handiwork of Culinary Class Wars star Chef Yoon. And for that, I could not be more grateful 🫡

Their standout is the Signature Galmaegisal, sometimes called the wagyu of pork. It's lean but surprisingly juicy, and after being hand-massaged with their secret marinade, grills to something genuinely special. Seorae Jib uses traditional onggi pots for oak wood and hay smoking, which adds a layer of depth you don't get at most mall KBBQ spots.

The BBQ menu starts from $68 for two pax, and a la carte options are available from $8.90. I've done a few sessions here with colleagues after work, and the fact that it's inside a mall means you don't have to deal with parking stress on top of a dinner rush.

📍 Address: Multiple locations including Plaza Singapura, Jem, Northpoint City, and NEX
Opening hours: Daily, 11:30am – 10pm

04. 8 Korean BBQ

(Photo: District Sixtyfive)

If you've ever wanted to run an unofficial experiment on your favourite marinades, 8 Korean BBQ is the place to do it. Their signature 8 Colours Set features a rainbow of pork belly strips, each marinated in a distinct way.  Think ginseng, garlic, miso, wine, herb, and red pepper paste, among others. The pork used is Mangalitza, a Hungarian heritage breed rich with every bite.

It's also worth noting that 8 Korean BBQ is Singapore's first 100% seed oil-free Korean BBQ, so the cooking fats are chosen for quality. Fun fact: the Shaw Centre outlet has a raw, exposed brick interior that makes it feel a little more “TV” than your average KBBQ spot.

📍 Address: Shaw Centre, 1 Scotts Road, #04-20/21, Singapore 228208 (and The Central, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street, #02-79/90, Singapore 059817)
Opening hours: Daily, 11.30am – 2.30pm, 5.30pm – 10.30pm

05. MiMi Korean BBQ

Sat in the heart of the Tanjong Pagar KBBQ strip, MiMi is hard to miss. The vibes are loud, the menu is dramatic, and the signature Hwasan Mulgalbi M ($69 for two pax) arrives at the table as a literal volcano-shaped mound of meat. Theatrical? Maybe, but the meat is well-marinated, and the spicy house sauce keeps you going back for more.

If that's not enough, their signature buffet ($32.50++ per pax) includes a series of bold meats that round out a menu that earns its bold presentation. Come with an appetite and a group that appreciates a bit of fun with their food.

📍 Address: 2 Peck Seah Street, Air View Building, #01-01, Singapore 079305
Opening hours: 11.30am – 3pm, 5.30pm – 12am daily

06. Guiga Korean BBQ

(Photo: Hungry Ghost)

Guiga is the kind of KBBQ spot that rewards you for showing up a little late to dinner plans. Open until midnight on weekdays and 12am on Saturdays, it's one of the few quality KBBQ spots along Tanjong Pagar that doesn't kick you out before the night even starts.

The beef sets are worth exploring. Set A ($109++) brings together prime beef short ribs, marinated prime beef short ribs, prime beef ribs, and cuts of shoulder meat. Set B ($68++) is a pork and chicken version for those who prefer their meats a little less bovine. The staff assists with grilling and even changes the grill between different meat cuts so the flavours stay clean and separate — a small detail that makes a real difference.

If you're visiting during lunch, the Ganjang Gejang Set ($23++) with soy-marinated raw crab is a rare find as far as KBBQ goes, and remains a sleeper hit for my taste buds.

📍 Address: 134 Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088538
Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 11.30am – 3pm, 5pm – 12am | Sat, 11.30am – 12am | Sun, 11.30am – 11pm
🍴 Halal status: Not halal

Premium picks: when only the best will do

07. Hanjip Korean Grill House

(Photo: Hanjib Korean Grill House)

Hanjip at Clarke Quay spans over 5,000 square feet, has seven private dining rooms themed after Korean landmarks, and serves cuts like USDA Prime Ribeye and Australian Wagyu. So yes, it's a bit of an occasion.

What makes it feel worth the price is the table service. The staff grills the meat for you, which sounds like a small thing until you're deep in conversation and realise you haven't had to think about cooking temperatures once. The Hanjip Platter ($198++) for two is the easiest way in, but if you're visiting for a birthday, their reservation perk of free A5 Japanese wagyu oyster blade (worth $48) is a genuinely lovely touch.

Beyond the BBQ, the Snow Cheese Korean Fried Chicken Wings are a crowd favourite, and the Ginseng Chicken ($38++) is one of the more comforting easts on the menu for when you want a break from the grill. I've been here twice (once for a post-work dinner and once for a birthday) and both times, the ventilation system actually did its job. No smoky hair on the way home, just a feeling of abject satisfaction and the aftertaste of wagyu on my tongue.

📍 Address: 3C River Valley Road, #01-11, Block C, Clarke Quay, Singapore 179022
Opening hours: Daily, 12pm – 2:30pm (last order 1:45pm), 5pm – 12am

8. Chang Korean BBQ

(Photo: Chang Korean BBQ)

If you've ever wanted to take someone somewhere that feels genuinely impressive without flying business class, Chang in Dempsey Hill is the answer. Tucked into the greenery of Loewen Road, it's Singapore's only KBBQ restaurant in Dempsey, and the setting alone earns it a spot on any list.

The food reflects Chang’s commitment to authenticity, with four different cuts of Australian beef in their Wagyu Modeum set ($168++ for 2 pax). Elsewhere, the Yuk Hoi ($43++) — Korean beef tartare served with pear, cucumber, pine nuts, and egg yolk — is one of the better versions of this dish I've had in Singapore, clean and well-balanced without being overly dressed.

Reservations are essential, but what you lose in spontaneity you get back in a long, unhurried dinner. And if you're building a proper night out around it, the surrounding Dempsey area is full of great spots that are equally worth your consideration.

📍 Address: 71 Loewen Road, #01-01, Singapore 248847
Opening hours: 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 10pm daily
