The best journeys are the ones you share. When you’re heading out on a long day of errands or planning a road trip across the island, having a partner who’ll share the wheel with you can make all the difference.
To give you even more freedom on the road, we’re launching a new feature on our app. Now, you can add one Additional Driver (AD) to every booking, and ensure that both they, as well as the Primary Driver (PD) are fully insured and ready to take turns behind the wheel.
When you add an AD to your drive, they’ll share the responsibility of handling your GetGo alongside you. Scroll for a quick guide to a better co-driving experience.
Step 1: Start with a handshake
Every good partnership begins when you make it official.

- For the Primary Driver: To add an AD, send an invite to your co-driver via their registered mobile number while making your booking.

- For the Additional Driver: Don’t leave your partner hanging! Check your GetGo app and accept the invite before the booking starts.
⭐To note: If the PD starts the trip before the AD has accepted the invitation, the AD cannot be added to the booking.
Step 2: Help chip in for coffee

For just $3, you’ll get the convenience of full insurance coverage for a second driver. This flat fee is charged to the PD’s account at the end of the booking. If you’re an AD, why not offer to cover the next round of snacks or a cup of kopi? A small gesture goes a long way.
Step 3: Know your roles
Being an AD gives you plenty of access via the GetGo app, but ultimately, each booking is still managed by the PD. Here’s a breakdown of who can do what:
💡Pro tip: While the PD is busy wrangling the kids or loading groceries, the AD can step in to handle the refuelling or do a final sweep of the car to ensure nothing is left behind. Just remember: the Primary Driver must be present to start and end the booking!
Step 4: Look out for each other
The biggest benefit of having an AD is peace of mind. Both drivers are covered under the same insurance policy for the duration of the trip.
- Insurance coverage: If either driver falls under the Young or Inexperienced Driver (YIED) category, YIED insurance will apply to the entire booking.
- Vehicle care: Being an AD means treating the car as if it were your own. Both drivers share the responsibility of driving safely to avoid damage and keeping the interior clean for future GetGoers.
Better together on the road
Sharing the wheel turns every drive into a shared adventure together. With an AD by your side, you can now swap seats safely, knowing you’re both covered and supported by GetGo.
