One of the first things you’ll learn about Vivocity is that it’s the largest shopping mall in Singapore. But nothing quite prepares you for the actual thing. It’s practically a city within itself, packed with hidden culinary gems and world-class retail therapy that’ll keep you coming back for more.
To help you navigate this massive space, I’ve put together the ultimate VivoCity guide. Scroll down to see the best this mall has to offer for food, fun, and everything in between!
01 • Feast on authentic flavours at Fei Zap Mai Laan

If you’re a fan of bold and hearty soups, you absolutely have to drop by Fei Zap Mai Laan (肥汁米蘭). This popular brand from Shanghai has opened its first overseas outlet right here in Singapore, bringing its famous heritage Hong Kong-style rice noodles to the HarbourFront area.
When I tried their Mighty Four Bowl, I was wowed by the sheer variety on offer — Fei Zap Mai Laan has over 30 toppings to choose from! The highlight for me was definitely the Signature Zhajiang Broth; it’s rich, savoury, and has a lovely smoky aroma.

02 • Discover traditional craftsmanship at Tan Mujiang

For a change of pace from your usual retail therapy, step into Tan Mujiang. This flagship store is a celebration of oriental aesthetics, specialising in meticulously handcrafted wooden combs and accessories.
I went to check out their range and was immediately drawn in by the elegant interior. I picked up one of their massage combs, and it has become an essential part of my nightly routine, as its fine grain helps with hair growth and preventing frizz. It’s the perfect place to find a unique, meaningful gift for a loved one.

You don’t have to drive all the way to our favourite spots in Tiong Bahru to find high-quality heritage food. Hjh Maimunah Mini, located within the Kopitiam Food Hall, offers the same Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognised quality in a convenient, modern setting.
Their Beef Rendang was succulent and perfectly infused with rich spices. On days when you’re itching for something with a kick, the Ayam Lemak Cili Padi never fails to deliver. It’s a great way to enjoy traditional flavours while on the go.

06 • Splash and play at the rooftop SkyPark

Located on the top floor, the SkyPark is a breezy rooftop garden that features lush lawns and a massive wade pool. It’s formed some absolutely formative primary school memories for yours truly, and still remains a favourite for families today. Let the kids tucker themselves out by splashing in the water for free while you enjoy the sea breeze. It also makes an ideal spot for a sky-high picnic if you’ve packed some treats!

07 • Take a scenic walk along the Sentosa Boardwalk

If you want to stretch your legs and soak in the views (or maybe save on the $4 monorail ticket), the Sentosa Boardwalk is easily accessible from Level 1 of the mall. This sheltered walkway connects VivoCity to Sentosa Island and features travelators, so anyone can enjoy the walk.
On my recent walk across the pond, I was particularly struck by the sights of cargo ships juxtaposed with the lush greenery of Sentosa growing in the distance. The unobstructed views of the waterfront are fantastic, and make a great way to transition from shopping to a beach-bound adventure.

08 • Indulge in a sweet treat at Rollney

For a unique dessert that you won’t find at your typical cafes, stop by Rollney. They specialise in Kurtos Ice Cream — traditional Hungarian chimney cakes that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
When I tried their cinnamon sugar Kurtos topped with soft-serve ice cream, I was struck by the combination of warm pastry and cold cream. It’s a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. Or really any teeth at all, because this unique texture combo is too good to be missed!
